Getting Started with Recipes

To access the Recipes section, click the green My Recipes tab from anywhere in The Nutrition Program.

Create a Recipe

Choose My Recipes, then click New Recipe.

Type in a name for the recipe, e.g. Scones.

Type in the number of portions your recipe makes - so for example if you are making a recipe of 8 scones, enter 8.

Click OK - your new Recipe is created, and you're taken to the the screen for adding ingredients.

(And you can always get back to your new Recipe by clicking the Recipes tab and finding it in the list)

Add some Ingredients

Find your ingredient

In the Find Ingredient search box, start typing the name of an ingredient you're looking for.

It's not a spelling test 😄

Don't worry if you're not sure how to spell the name of your ingredient.

The Nutrition Program is great at guessing what you mean.

So if you're looking for avocado, you can type avacado or avucado and the Nutrition Program will suggest Avocado.

Ingredient Search

If you type in a general ingredient name like flour, The Nutrition Program will find lots of matches. You can try searching for something more specific (e.g. search for wholemeal flour and it finds Flour, Wholemeal) or scroll down the list of different Flours to find the one you want.

Add some to the Recipe

Nutrition Info

When you click to add an ingredient to your recipe, the pop-up window includes nutrition information about the ingredient. This can help you decide how much of your ingredient to add, for example if you are trying to create a healthier version of your recipe.

Click the green + button to add the ingredient to your Recipe.

Enter an amount, e.g. 200. Type the amount in grams – the program gives you some clues but use your recipe.

Click OK to save this Ingredient to your Recipe.
